Blake Shelton Celebrates Ole Red Nashville Grand Opening

Ryman Hospitality Properties and Blake Shelton’s long awaited restaurant and bar Ole Red Nashville is officially open on famed Lower Broadway. The entertainment venue celebrated yesterday, June 6, with a full day of powerhouse programming with national television broadcasts and unforgettable performances from country’s biggest stars.

The grand opening celebrations began with Shelton co-hosting the fourth hour of TODAY with Hoda Kotb. “This is happening! This is real! We’re really here!” exclaimed Shelton as he and Kotb took their seats on Ole Red Nashville’s stage.

As Kotb and Shelton reminisced on memories made together over their years of friendship, the artist broke out a guitar to serenade Kotb and the audience with a verse of the new establishment’s namesake song, “Ol’ Red.” The co-hosts chose to forgo their traditional glasses of wine for Ole Red Nashville’s signature cocktails, Tishomingo Sunset and Cumberland Punch.

The broadcast also featured appearances by Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett and Darius Rucker. Big Machine Label Group recording artists Sugarland took the stage as musical guests, and performed their new song “Babe.”

Later that evening Shelton performed “Turnin’ Me On,” a song from his current album Texoma Shore from Ole Red Nashville’s rooftop bar, The Lookout, on the CMT Music Awards. Shelton won two awards at the ceremony including the night’s biggest award, Video of the Year for “I’ll Name The Dogs.”

After the awards, the party returned to Ole Red where Shelton officially christened the venue’s stage with an exclusive “Blake Shelton and Friends” concert, where he opened the show with his hit song “Neon Light” and a cover of Hal Ketchum’s “Small Town Saturday Night, and Eddie Rabbitt’s “Drivin’ My Life Away.” In traditional honky-tonk fashion, all of Shelton’s guests covered a high-energy song fans know and love. The all-star lineup included Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Kelly Clarkson, Devin Dawson, Hunter Hayes, The Voice contestant Kyla Jade, Chris Janson, Jon Pardi, Raelynn, Michael Ray, Darius Rucker, Dan + Shay and Little Big Town. NASCAR driver Clint Boyer also made an appearance to sing John Anderson’s “Seminole Wind” on stage with Shelton.

Shelton closed the show with a collection of his hits mixed with 80’s and 90’s country classics, including George Strait, Conway Twitty and Rhett Akins. “I can’t believe this actually happened” announced an ecstatic Shelton as he thanked the crowd.

Ole Red Nashville is now officially open to the public, with operating hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Shelton to co-host Opry-style “Blake & Friends” block party and free concert on Main Street tomorrow with performances by RaeLynn, Jeannie Seely, John Conlee, Ronnie Milsap, and co-host WSM’s Bill Cody

Tishomingo, Okla. – Ryman Hospitality Properties partnered with country superstar Blake Shelton in a press conference this afternoon to kick off the grand opening of Ole Red Tishomingo, a restaurant, bar and live music venue inspired by Opry member Blake Shelton’s hit song “Ol’ Red.” With funds raised from a private performance set for this evening at the venue, Shelton presented $32,000 to Carl Atteberry of J.C. Reaching Out, which provides financial assistance to family members of people battling cancer.

When asked, “What about the Oklahoma experience do you want people to have when they come here,” Shelton responded, “I think the most important thing for me – outside of just doing something for this particular community – was for people to get a feeling of warmth here. “For a song that meant so much to me to take this shape and come to life as Ole Red has is really mind-blowing,” shared Shelton. “Our community is in for a treat with the Opry bringing their famed broadcast to Tishomingo for this special show. It’s a proud day for us Oklahomans.”

Colin Reed, chairman and chief executive officer of Ryman Hospitality Properties, said, “The Ole Red brand is all about celebrating the country lifestyle, and that is why we have chosen to open the first location in a town that is so close to Blake’s heart. Ole Red Tishomingo is a special place where people can experience Southern Oklahoma living at its best, and we look forward to debuting it with help from Blake and members of our Opry family.”

For some, the grand opening festivities will begin on Friday, September 29 at 8 p.m. when Shelton will perform an intimate, private concert from the Ole Red Tishomingo stage. Proceeds from the performance will benefit the non-profit J.C. Reaching Out, a local charity that provides financial assistance to family members of people battling cancer. Just 130 tickets will be sold at $200 apiece and will be available on olered.com beginning Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. Central.

Blake Shelton and Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. Unveil Plans for Ole Red

Jan. 4, 2017

Shelton-Inspired Brand to be Anchored by Ole Red Nashville, An Entertainment Venue on Lower Broadway

Ole Red Tishomingo Planned for Shelton’s Hometown to be Operated by Ryman Hospitality Properties’ Entertainment Segment

Grand Ole Opry Member Blake Shelton and Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RHP) today announced plans to transform Shelton’s breakout hit “Ol’ Red” into a new lifestyle brand anchored by a $20 million multi-level entertainment venue in the heart of Music City’s famed Lower Broadway.

Designed to embody the spirit of Shelton’s clever, irreverent third chart hit, the Ole Red concept is part of Ryman Hospitality Properties’ strategy to create digital content, retail and entertainment venues that celebrate the country lifestyle and resonate with country music’s rapidly growing consumer base of more than 100 million people across the United States.

Colin Reed, Ryman Hospitality Properties Chairman and CEO, said, “The Grand Ole Opry is known for connecting fans to the artists and the music they love and that is what the Ole Red brand is all about. Not only is Blake Shelton one of the most popular entertainers of his generation, his performance style and passion for authentic country music have also made him a fixture on the Grand Ole Opry stage since the early days of his career. Ole Red will immerse fans in all the elements of a great country song—with some unexpected twists from Blake along the way.”

With a planned opening in 2018, Ole Red Nashville will be a multi-level 26,000-square-foot entertainment venue, with a two-story bar and restaurant, retail area, performance space, dance floor and private VIP booths for small groups. The complex will also include a large, private event space and a 6,000-square-foot rooftop featuring an indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant with panoramic views of Lower Broadway.

The performance space at Ole Red Nashville will be equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and acoustics tailor-made for the event programming that will take place there, including intimate concerts, live band karaoke, showcases for up-and-coming talent and more to be announced as the complex nears completion.

Shelton and Ryman Hospitality Properties also announced Ole Red Tishomingo, which is set to open in late 2017 in the Platinum-selling recording artist’s hometown of Tishomingo, Okla.

“It’s amazing to me to see a song that’s been such a big part of my career come to life in the plans for Ole Red,” said Blake Shelton. “Nashville and Tishomingo are both places that are important to me, and it’s great that each location is going to have its own personality inspired by one of my favorite songs. It’s always been a dream of mine to create something like this where people know they’re going to have a good time as soon as they walk in the door, and I couldn’t be more excited that my friends at the Opry and Ryman Hospitality Properties are making it happen.”

Ole Red Nashville will be located at 300 Broadway in a building Ryman Hospitality Properties purchased in 2014. Ryman Hospitality Properties is working with Tuck-Hinton Architects and Anderson Design Studio on the project. Turner Construction will serve as the General Contractor for Ole Red Nashville.
